This project also made me realize how much this myth relates to Lima Senior. In Lima Senior I've heard stories about people getting bullied or made fun of just for being transgender, or wanting to act the the opposite gender than they were born with. It is apparent that in this school, boys are supposed to act a certain way, and girls are supposed to act another. When someone decides that they want to act the like something other than the one they were supposed to be associated. Many times they are looked down on. I've noticed It isn't always like this in Lima Senior. There are those people at Lima Senior that actually accept others no matter their gender, or the gender they want to be called.

The one thing that was taken away from the myth of gender was that transgender is not a third gender. And the people that we interviewed agreed that transgender isn’t a third gender. They believe that you are either male or female. “ All persons are either male of female.”(Devor 388). Devor also agreed in the article “The Gender Self” that there is no third gender. We interviewed Mrs. Rozell which is the patient care teacher at LSH and she did say that the program is mainly dominated by females. And the other career techs are either dominated by males, or a mix of males and females. And some of the students we interviewed said that in the classroom environment, the females are most likely to get their work done rather than the males in the classroom.

Each and every one of our interviewees were a great contribution to our multimodal. They helped us contrast the many diverse perspectives of the Myth of Gender. This specific myth made it easier for me to understand the binary gender roles. Before starting this project, I never really understood why people thought there was such thing as a third gender. Along with why people expect certain genders to do specific things. The Myth of Gender contributes to Lima Senior High School in many unusual ways. Lima Senior offers 10 career tech programs for the students to choose from. Such programs include DECA, Patient Care, Welding, Automotive, Construction, Culinary, Multimedia and Early Childhood Education. All of these programs accept both males and females. The Myth of Gender relates to Lima Senior through the career tech programs because they demonstrate how some programs are more male or female dominated.
